Smart Tap
The Automa c Water Dispenser is a step into the world of Automa on and Smart Hygiene. It answers the ques on: 'How do taps in malls open automa cally when we put our hands under them?' By building this, students learn the core principle of robo cs-Input (Sensor) → Process (Relay)→ Output (Pump)-turning them from users of technology into creators of smart systems.

Build guide (11 steps)
Assembly the Components
You will find the following components inside the kit: Wooden Parts * A total of 10 wooden parts are provided. * Part 1 and Part 2 are single pieces. * Parts 3 to 6 are provided in double quantity (two pieces each). Electronic Components and Accessories 7- Part 7 – Jumper cable (Random color) 8- Part 8 – Two half-cut black female jumper cables 9- Part 9 – Two half-cut red female jumper cables 10- Screwdriver 11- Single 18650 Battery 12- Charging Module 13- On/Off Switch 14- IR Sensor 15- Relay Module 16-Single-cell Battery Holder 17- Pipe 18- 24 Screws 19- 3 Nut and Bolt sets 20- Container with Lid 21- Pump
Connecting the IR Module and Relay Module
* Take Part 14 (IR Module) and Part 15 (Relay Module). Connect the IN port of one module to the OUT port of the other using Part 7 (Jumper Cable). * Take the two Part 8 (black female jumper cables) and connect them to the GND ports of Part 14 (IR Module) and Part 15 (Relay Module) respectively. * Now take the two Part 9 (red female jumper cables) and connect them to the VCC ports of Part 14 (IR Module) and Part 15 (Relay Module) respectively. * Take Part 16 (Battery Holder). Twist the black wire from the battery holder together with the two black wires connected to Part 14 and Part 15, as shown.
Connecting the Charging Module
1- Take Part 12 (Charging Module) and connect its black wire to the existing bundle of black wires, forming a common wire cluster as shown. 2-Now insert this black wire cluster made above into the GND (Ground) terminal of Part 15 (Relay Module), as shown.
Connecting the Pump
* Take Part 21 (Pump) and gently separate the red and black wires for easier handling. * Take the red wires connected to Part 14 (IR Module) and Part 15 (Relay Module). Twist these two red wires together with the red wire of the pump, combining all three. * Now take the black wire of the pump and connect it to the Normally Closed (NC) terminal of Part 15 (Relay Module), as shown.
Testing the Circuit
* Take the red wire from Part 12 (Charging Module) and the red wire from Part 16 (Battery Holder). Twist them together as shown. Insert Part 11 (18650 Battery) into Part 16 (Battery Holder). * Now touch this red wire cluster with the red wire cluster prepared in Step 4 (while the pump is connected) and check whether the pump is working. * After successful testing, remove the 18650 battery from the battery holder. * Also remove Part 21 (Pump) completely, as shown.
Troubleshooting (Optional)
If the IR sensor is not functioning properly: * Use a screwdriver to rotate the blue potentiometer on Part 14 (IR Sensor) fully to the left. * Then slowly rotate it slightly to the right until the sensor starts operating correctly.
Base Assembly
* Place Part 1 at the base. Fix two Part 3 pieces onto it using screws and a screwdriver. * Now attach one Part 4 to the base using screws. Ensure that one side remains open, specifically the side marked with "1", as shown in the illustration. * Next, carefully screw the battery holder (Part 16) onto the assembly, as shown.
Mounting the Modules
1- Carefully take Part 14 (IR Sensor) and fix it onto the base using a pair of nut and bolt, as shown. 2- Now attach the remaining Part 4 using screws to complete the walls of the assembly. 3- Carefully remove the protective tape from Part 15 (Relay Module) and stick it to the wall facing opposite to the battery holder (Part 16). 4-Remove the protective tape from Part 12 (Charging Module) and stick it to the side opposite to Part 14 (IR Sensor), as shown.
Mounting the Assembly and Pump
* Take the lid from Part 20 (Container Lid) and screw the assembled structure on top of it, as shown. * Now take Part 21 (Pump) and attach Part 17 (Pipe) to it. * Take the wire of Part 21 (Pump) along with Part 17 (Pipe) and carefully guide them out through their respective holes, as shown.
Connecting the Switch and Final Power Setup
* Take the two wire clusters as shown and pull them through the slot in the wall to the side where the switch holes are provided. * Fix both wire clusters to each terminal of the switch (Part 13) and secure them properly. * Insert the 18650 battery (Part 11) back into the battery holder (Part 16).
Final Assembly and Completion
* Take two Part 6, two Part 5, and Part 2. Screw them together to create the top frame assembly, as shown. * Place this assembled frame onto the structure completed in Step 10. Carefully guide Part 17 (Pipe) through the provided holes, as shown, and secure everything using screws. * Now fill the bottom container (Part 20) with liquid and suspend the pump (Part 21) inside it by placing the entire assembly on top of the container. Hooray!! Project Complete. 🎉
