Concept
A clock chip keeps time even when the MCU is off, using a coin cell.
A little theory
Temperature-compensated crystal, I2C address 0x68. ±2 ppm typical — far better than DS1307. In the classroom, treat DS3231 RTC Clock Module as a beginner part using I2C. Typical India street price is about ₹80–₹180. Always verify voltage and pin labels on your exact module — silk screens vary across clones. Start with a datasheet or trusted learn guide, power the part correctly, share GND with the MCU, and test with a simple blink/read sketch before building the full project.
