Efficient MOSFET H-bridge — cooler and better for battery robots than L298N.
Interface: PWM + IN
H-bridge enable/direction often uses the motor overlay pins — mutually exclusive with LCD I2C.
Motor overlay uses D1 (and paired pins). Give motors their own battery.

TB6612FNG is a MOSFET H-bridge motor driver — cooler and more efficient than L298N for battery robots.
Low Rds(on) MOSFETs mean less voltage drop and less heat than L298 Darlingtons, so more of the battery voltage reaches the motors. Dual channels with PWM + direction inputs and a STBY pin. Logic from about 2.7–5.5 V works with both 3.3 V and 5 V MCUs. Continuous current ~1.2 A per channel with peaks higher — still not for huge gear motors. In the classroom, treat TB6612FNG Motor Driver as a intermediate part using PWM + IN. Typical India street price is about ₹120–₹250. Always verify voltage and pin labels on your exact module — silk screens vary across clones. Start with a datasheet or trusted learn guide, power the part correctly, share GND with the MCU, and test with a simple blink/read sketch before building the full project. Measure voltages with a multimeter when something fails, and keep actuator current off the MCU regulator.
Wire VM (motor battery), VCC (logic), GND common. PWMA/B from MCU PWM pins; AIN1/2 and BIN1/2 for direction; pull STBY high to enable.
