ESP32 DevKit is a dual-core Wi-Fi + Bluetooth board for richer IoT, BLE phone control, and edge demos. Think of it as ESP8266’s more capable cousin.
Xtensa dual-core (typically up to 240 MHz), Wi-Fi 802.11 b/g/n, Bluetooth Classic/BLE, multiple ADC channels, DAC on some pins, and touch sensors. Logic is 3.3 V CMOS. Strapping pins (GPIO0, 2, 12, 15) affect boot and flash voltage — avoid tying them oddly at reset. ADC is non-linear near the rails; prefer mid-range voltages. USB-UART chips on clones limit current — never power banks of servos from the DevKit 5 V pin.
Install Arduino-ESP32 or use ESP-IDF. Select the correct board (WROOM-32 DevKit). Use WiFi.h / BLE libraries. Prefer external 5 V for actuators; level-shift any 5 V sensor outputs.
