DHT11 reports temperature and relative humidity on a single digital data pin — the classic first weather-station sensor.
Inside: a capacitive humidity element and a thermistor, digitised by a tiny controller. It sends 40 bits (16 humidity + 16 temperature + checksum) using timed pulses on one wire with a pull-up. Specs are coarse (±2 °C, ±5 %RH); range roughly 0–50 °C and 20–90 %RH. Polling faster than about 1 Hz causes failed reads because the sensor needs recovery time.
